Alik Gharibyan: Caucasian sciences is of state importance

YEREVAN, APRIL 19, ARMENPRESS: Caucasian sciences profession is planned to open in the Yerevan State University from the new academic year. Head of the YSU scientific-organizational department Alik Gharibyan told Armenpress that the author of this idea is rector of the university. The programs have already been worked out and presented to the Armenian government but the issues of text-books and lecturers are not fully solved yet.

Gharibyan pointed out that the main goal of the Caucasian Sciences department will be political Armenian sciences, in-depth study of Georgian and Azerbaijani languages, which is of vital importance for the state. He noted that ground for creation of the department already exists: the university students are already studying Caucasian Sciences. Gharibyan noted that the students are quite interested in studying Azerbaijani language which is explained with their strive to worthily combat the anti-Armenia propaganda.

Gharibyan noted that at the conference that took place recently in Stepanakert students presented a separate package to the YSU rector Aram Simonyan on creation of Azerbaijani and Turkish sciences center. The rector promised to be consecutive and give process to the suggestion.
