Naira Zohrabyan: “Depriving us of the Opportunity to Ask Questions, Çavusoglu Tried to Ensure “Greenhouse” Conditions for Erdogan”

YEREVAN, APRIL 14, ARMENPRESS: It was PACE President Mevlut Çavusoglu’s decision to deprive the two members of the Armenian delegation to PACE – Naira Zohrabyan and Zaruhi Postanjyan – of the opportunity to ask Recep Tayyip Erdogan questions.

This was mentioned in the PACE Secretariat’s statement, provided as a response to the inquiry by the Armenian delegation members. Naira Zohrabyan reported Armenpress from Strasbourg that the PACE secretariat stated that in case there is an invitee at the PACE, the charter allows the PACE president to edit the list of those, who will ask questions.

“Actually Çavusoglu used this clause of the charter,” Naira Zohrabyan said. Çavusoglu attributed to the charter, but Naira Zohrabyan considers this political step scandalous, as she says she does not remember any case, when any president of the PACE tried to edit the list of those, who were registered for questions. “Something is obvious: depriving us the opportunity of asking questions, Çavusoglu just tried to ensure “greenhouse” conditions for Erdogan at the session hall in order to exclude the undesirable questions for Turkey’s prime minister,” Naira Zohrabyan said.
