Vazgen Safaryan: Armenia’s economy entering new development phase

YEREVAN, APRIL 11, ARMENPRESS: “Armenia’s economy is entering a new development phase,” head of the Union of Local Producers Vazgen Safaryan said today at the meeting with reporters. According to him, the attitude of the Armenian government toward the Armenian industry is currently initiative and the tendencies of the growth of the volume of industry are inspiring.
If in January industrial products amounting to 63 billion AMD were produced, in February the index reached 68 billion AMD. Safaryan said this year the government intends 4,5 % of industrial growth. He said if this dynamics continues not only 4,5% but more growth will be registered.
Safaryan agreed the growth tempos of the industry with the promotion of export and readiness to develop the local production which will replace the imported products.
