NKR parliamentarian: CO-chairs must specify their attitude toward conflict settlement

YEREVAN, APRIL 7, ARMENPRESS: After the publication of the report on field mission in NK nearby territories the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs must by all means visit Stepanakert, head of the NKR NA’s foreign relations standing committee Vahram Atanesyan said, adding that the visit must take place as the report has left many questions.

“There were many ambiguous phrases,” Atanesyan stressed, adding that the co-chairs must clarify their attitude toward the settlement of the conflict as a result of which a clear perception to what the negotiation process takes must be formed.

“Finally it must be registered that Azerbaijan initiated the attack and tried to exert pressure on the attempt of the people of Karabakh to use their right to self-determination. I would like to ask the mediators whether the international community accepts that people living in Nagorno Karabakh have right to express their free will and if yes why it is not being registered,” the NKR NA parliamentarian said, adding, “I do not know whether the co-chairs will visit Stepanakert or not, but I want to stress that moment of frankness and objectiveness has come.”
