Davit Jamalyan: Baku has serious basis for throwing down negotiation initiatives

YEREVAN, MARCH 29, ARMENPRESS: Baku has serious basis for throwing down the negotiation initiatives, military psychologist Davit Jamalyan said today at a meeting with journalists, referring to the results of the Armenian, Russian and Azerbaijani Presidents hold March 5 in Sochi.

According to him, it is obvious that Russia tries to convey positive results to the Karabakh negotiations, and it is not by chance that this time too an agreement was gained in the issue of exchange of captives. “It is not a small victory for the Russian diplomacy,“ Mr. Jamalyan said, noting that in comparison to Azerbaijan, the Armenian party is not interested in military activities, and any humanitarian initiative is profitable for Armenia.

“The issue has other logic for the Azerbaijani party. That country tries to cooperate in the issue of exchange of captives, simultaneously keeping the tension.

Baku has serious basis for throwing down the negotiation initiatives, putting the blame on the Armenian party,” the military expert said, without excluding that Azerbaijan is getting prepared for war, but it is not clear when.

The speaker also said that Baku’s political calculations extend a big significance to snipers and subversive groups. “It is clear that Azerbaijan is not going to respect its very signatures,” Mr. Jamalyan said, adding that any activity of Azerbaijani snipers is suspended and gets a corresponding response by the Armenian armed forces.
