YEREVAN, MARCH 28, ARMENPRESS: An insurance company is committed to compensate for medical treatment abroad, if the medical commission of the Armenian Car Insurers’ Bureau finds that the treatment of the person suffered from the crash is impossible to implement in the territory of Armenia, Press Officer of the bureau Armine Hakobyan told Armenpress.
“Studying the international experience, Armenian Car Insurance Bureau has defined the list of the damages caused to health as a consequence of traffic accidents, for treatment of which there are not enough conditions in Armenia,” she noted, adding that the motor insurance companies must pay for implementation of the treatment in the corresponding medical institution abroad.
The law on compulsory motor insurance intends to compensate the suffered person for recovery by allocating 3 million Drams maximum, and 9 million Drams maximum for one traffic accident.
According to Mrs. Hakobyan, Armenian medical establishments mainly do have the corresponding conditions, but specialists say there are cases when for efficient treatment a necessity arises to apply to corresponding medical institutions of Russia and Czechia.
