Naira Zohrabyan: “The OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs’ Statements Must Have More Concrete Addresses”

YEREVAN, MARCH 25, ARMENPRESS: We take on board the statements of the OSCE Minsk group co-chairs, however I have stated for many times that time has come for their statements to have more concrete addresses, says Naira Zohrabyan, member of the National Assembly “Prosperous Armenia” Party faction. She said today at a National Assembly briefing that she addressed the issue to the OSCE chairman-in-office.

“If a statement generally calls on the parties to refrain from military rhetoric and does not mention the author of such rhetoric, or calls on to refrain from increasing the military budget, not mentioning which party must do this, it is not clear for me to what it can bring,” Naira Zohrabyan said. She also mentioned that the OSCE chairman-in-office must have proposed to withdraw snipers from the contact line in Azerbaijan. She says the Armenian party has expressed for many times its willingness to withdraw snipers from the contact line, and Azerbaijan refuses to do this.

“As long as the OSCE Minsk group co-chairs’ statements are general, we will not manage to achieve a positive progress,” Naira Zohrabyan said. Hovhannes Margaryan, member of the Orinats Yerkir faction, says Azerbaijan always makes warlike statements as an aggressor; however “a number of projects are being implemented in the Nagorno Karabakh, and favorable conditions are being created for people to return and go on living in their homeland”.
