YEREVAN, MARCH 24, ARMENPRESS: Turkey has its reason to restrain from joining the forces of the coalition in the latter’s activities against Lybia, Turkologist Artak Shakaryan said speaking to Armenpress and adding that a number of senior members of the “Justice and Development” party, including Recep Tayyip Erdogan, made big investments in Lybia and it explains why they restrain from using force against that country.
“It is also necessary to take into consideration that more than 20 000 Turks are living and working in Lybia. Turkey has evacuated few thousand of them but continues worrying about the fate of the rest. It makes clear why it does not participate in actions against Lybia,” the Turkologist said. In his opinion if not the March 12 call of the Arab League to find solution to the Lybian issue, Turkey would have tried to avoid making any statement in the foreign political arena against or for the situation in Lybia.
“Turkey is trying to be noticeable in the Arab world and in this case it could not left the call of the Arab League without response,” Shakaryan said.
