Capital expenditures directed to provinces

YEREVAN, MARCH 23, ARMENPRESS: The analysis of the recent years shows essential changes in the distribution of the state means. Vice Prime Minister, Territorial Administration Minister Armen Gevorgyan said today at the presentation of the concept on RA territorial development that the capital expenditures were mainly directed to provinces. If in 2008 the 30% of the means were addressed to Yerevan and the 70% to the provinces in 2010 more than 80% was directed to provinces.

Gevorgyan said the means were directed toward the development of infrastructures – improvement of irrigation, drinking water systems, road construction, apartment building etc. According to him, a number of programs were implemented toward equal territorial development, part of them is underway. In cooperation with the World Bank Armenia is carrying out a program with which the health system of the country is being upgraded.

“We have opened many upgraded, reconstructed hospitals in the provinces. The program is in process,” Gevorgyan said.

He underscored the launch of the new program within the framework of which works will be carried out to develop livestock and corresponding infrastructures.
