Vahan Hovhannissyan: Azerbaijan does not correspond to European standards

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 23, ARMENPRESS: At the Parliamentary Assembly of the EU Eastern Partnership – Euronest – Armenia came forth in favor of participation of Belarus, head of the Armenian delegation to Euronest and ARF faction Vahan Hovhannissyan said today, explaining that double standards are being applied toward Belarus and that is the reason why the Armenian delegation came forth in favor of Minsk.

“From the point of view of democracy Azerbaijan even does not correspond to the European standards. With Lukashenko’s example Ilham Aliyev is planning to forward his candidacy at presidential elections. Why does Europe want to work with Baku but does not want to work with Minsk? Maybe because Belarus does not have oil,” Hovhannissyan said.
