Expert: OSCE Minsk format cannot be changed

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 7, ARMENPRESS: The Nagorno Karabakh affairs sub-committee cannot be a real format for the conflict settlement, vice director of the Caucasian media institute, political analyst Sergey Minasyan said, adding that the sub committee, according to the regulation rules, it will start its work from spring. According to him, the real format of negotiations has always been and will always be the OSCE Minsk Group. “But probably the sub-committee may become a stage for propaganda war,” Minasyan said, adding, that if Azerbaijanis succeed to use the sub-committee for spreading propaganda the work of the latter cannot be effective.

Referring to the issue that whether it will be effective for the Armenian side to boycott the works of the sub-committee, the political analyst noted that not always boycott becomes an effective tool for diplomacy and politics.

“Even if there is a minimal opportunity to show through the work in the sub-committee that its existence is senseless, this opportunity must not be lost,” the political analyst said, pointing out that in any case it is the issue of political decision of the Armenian side.

Speaking about the further format of negotiations, the political analyst highlighted the continuation of negotiations within the framework of the OSCE Minsk group.
