Diaspora businessmen welcome the idea of making Armenia’s parliament two-chamber

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 4, ARMENPRESS: The idea of making Armenia’s chamber parliament is welcoming. It can be a firm tie between Diaspora and Armenia, American-Armenian businessman Vahan Zanoyan said at today’s press conference. According to Vahan Hovnanyan, the idea is very good and it must be developed.

“We must not create issues beginning from today, we must think how bring that idea to life in order it serves for strengthening of Armenia-Diaspora tie. We must come forth with different initiatives, which will be directed toward uniting all the Armenians of the world,” Mr. Hovnanyan said.

Mr. Zanoyan attached importance to involving representatives of Diaspora in the parliament. According to him, the Diaspora Armenians will have an opportunity to present different proposals, to voice about issues.

“Armenia-Diaspora tie has greatly changed recently. It has become more firm. In this case it is very welcoming to have representatives of world Armenians in the parliament,” Mr. Zanoyan said. According to him, the Armenians of Diaspora can come forth with proposals in cultural, economic and other spheres and voice about the issues of global reality. “Diaspora has a big potential,” he said.
