YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 3, ARMENPRESS: The events taking place in Egypt will bring serious changes to the Middle-East, political analyst Alexander Iskandaryan said at a news conference today. “These developments are important for Armenia as they may relate to the events taking place in our region,” the political analyst said.
According to him, these re-classifications will bring to the increase of the role of Iran in the region which on its turn may have negative consequences for Israel, taking into consideration that the latter has lost one of its important rallies in the region – Turkey. It may also lose Egypt if Islamic radicals come to power there.
Speaking about Turkey’s impact on the events taking place in the Arab world, Iskandaryan noted that Turkey is playing a very careful game. “Of course, it is very interesting for Turkey what is taking place in Egypt as it is here it uses the policy of duality when with one face it looks to Europe with the other to the Arab world,” political analyst said, adding that weak Egypt is beneficial for Turkey.
