YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 2, ARMENPRESS: The issue of making the NA two-chamber needs discussions, member of the Armenian Republican Party Artak Davtyan said today at a meeting with journalists, considering logical especially the fact that the statement has been made in the biggest and consolidated colony of Armenia – California.
According to him, all that requires quite a complicated and long-lasting process of constitutional changes. “This issue cannot be brought to a vote in near future. Inner discussions will be held, the variant of formation of the chambers will be determined,” Mr. Davtyan said.
Former NKR Foreign Affairs Minster Arman Melikyan expressed concern in regard to making of the parliament two-chamber. “If the representatives of the Senate pay annually 1 million for their office, it will be already clear: this will be a variant of involving money into the budget,” Mr. Melikyan said.
According to Mr. Davtyan, no discussion have been held in the Armenian Republican Party over this issue yet, they are just to start.
