YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 1, ARMENPRESS: We must undertake all the possible measures so that Nagorno Karabakh becomes a full and equal negotiating party, member of NA Heritage Party Zaruhi Postanjyan said today at a meeting with journalists. According to her, if any issues arise connected with the Artsakh Republic, then only the NKR is eligible to present them. Nagorno Karabakh is a separate independent state, which has been formed in the same period as Armenia, in the same legal way. Mrs. Postanjyan noted that the Turkish and Azerbaijani parties undertake steps to move the settlement process of Karabakh issue to another format.
Chairman of the PACE Mevlut Cavusoglu has come forth with an initiative that the Subcommittee on Nagorno Karabakh issue resumes its activity. “The goal of suchlike initiative is to move the solution of the Karabakh issue from the format of the OSCE Minsk group to another platform,” Mrs. Postanjyan said.
The parliamentarian referred to his following initiative, according to which he has spread a written statement on “Construction of democratic republic by the Nagorno Karabakh Republic (Artsakh)”, under which 29 representatives of different countries have signed.
“This can serve as a basis for presentation of compulsory documents in future,” Mrs. Postanjyan said. Nagorno Karabakh has gained independence in a legal way. In 1991 Karabakh people said “yes” to independence through referendum. Mrs. Postanjyan noted that the NKR is a consolidated state with its intention of building a democratic state.
