YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 1, ARMENPRESS: The processes taking place recently shows that more probably Armenia will recall its signatures from the Armenian-Turkish protocols, member of the Armenian delegation to PACE, parliamentarian from the “Prosperous Armenia” faction Naira Zohrabyan said at a news conference today.
The parliamentarian came to this thought during the recent sitting of the PACE when hearing the words of the Turkish foreign minister and president at the PACE Ministerial Committee in response to her questions.
“President of Turkey in his speech confirmed that they tie the normalization of the Armenian-Turkish relations with the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict,” Naira Zohrabyan said.
In response to her second question whether Turkey is going to relieve itself from the historic burden and recognize the Armenian genocide, the Turkish president said the term “genocide” is unacceptable for them. Abdullah Gul again offered creation of historic commission, open the archives of the two countries. He said the final decision of the commission will be acceptable for them.
“Gul’s responses show that Turkey is not undergoing democratic progress and is continue being guided with the 1915 behavior and is not ready to face the historic facts,” Zohrabyan said.
