YEREVAN, JANUARY 28, ARMENPRESS: In the first half of this January the Armenian government confirmed the SME State Support Program 2011, which intends a number of new program directions. On this year’s activity of the center Armenpress interviewed Executive Director of the Small and Medium Enterprise Development National Center of Armenia (SME DNC) Karen Gevorgyan.
-Mr. Gevorgyan, would you mention the new directions?
-SME state support programs have been drafted and implemented by the government from 2002, and the program directions and the opportunities of their implementation are expanding and growing year by year. But this year’s program is sharper and differs from the programs of the previous years. The drafting and application of the new model of the activity of SME DNC province branches will be among the most important issues for 2011.
-The network of the SME DNE of Armenia is intended to draft and introduce this year. Which is its goal?
-It will unite the network of province branches and the head office in one joint system. It will afford an opportunity to essentially reduce the documentation volumes, to simplify the procedures of service to beneficiaries and to reduce their terms. Besides that, it will enable exchange of information and documents.
-Will the hotline of the SME DNE continue working this year?
-Of course, the hotline will work in 2011, too. Thanks to it businessmen will have an opportunity to present their application-complaints and proposals, which are related to the legislation and administration concerning entrepreneurial activity.
