Driving away the responsibility of genocide, the Turkish state leaves the shame of the genocide committer on its people

YEREVAN, JANUARY 25, ARMENPRESS: Armenians are not the only victims of genocide. Ethnographer Hranush Kharatyan said today at a meeting with reporters that good or bad but in villages and towns many Armenians and Turks had joined life, thus both of them are the victims of policy. “The people with the hands of which the genocide was committed are also victims for us. In global sense it is an ethnic sacrifice,” the ethnographer said, adding that the Turkish authorities denying the fact of genocide till now, not even trying to understand which is responsible for it keep the whole Turkish people as hostages as in this case the whole guilt falls on the people.

“We are saying “Turks” unlike the Holocaust when it was said “fascists” and not the “Germans” as they were concrete people with concrete responsibility. Today the word “Turk” is being perceived as capable of genocide,” Kharatyan said.

Whether people are able to commit genocide – Kharatyan said that the both parties have their clear position in case of Turkey it is a policy of denial. “Driving away the responsibility of genocide, the Turkish state leaves the shame of the genocide committer on its people,” the ethnographer said.
