YEREVAN, JANUARY 24, ARMENPRESS: The statement of the Azerbaijani ambassador to Russia Polad Byulbyuloghli about the continuation of works with his Armenian counterpart over the “people’s diplomacy” and the possible visit of the Armenian and Azerbaijani intellectuals to NK is a political adventurism, head of the information department of the NKR president, political analyst Davit Babayan told Armenpress.

Byulbyuloghli stated in Baku that the works towards “people’s diplomacy” continue “but it is still difficult to speak about the results”.

At the same time the Azerbaijani ambassador demanded from that the Azerbaijani actors of Moscow theatres not participate in the works on shooting the first feature film about the Armenian-Azerbaijani relations – “The interrupted song”. After all it the Azerbaijani actor with the participation of which a number of scenes have been shot refused to continue working in the project.

“In this case the “people’s diplomacy” must not be manifested with the visit of Azerbaijani figures to the NK,” Babayan said, adding that the last step of Byulbyuloghi shows that the kind will of the NKR displayed toward the “people’s diplomacy” is not justified. Babayan says there are no grounds to continue it.

January 28 2007 ambassadors of Armenia and Azerbaijan initiated visit of the Armenian and Azerbaijani intellectuals to Yerevan, Baku and Stepanakert. Another such tour was organized in 2009.

The idea of the “The interrupted song” film belongs to a group of Armenians living in Moscow.
