YEREVAN, JANUARY 20, ARMENPRESS: The partnership between Armenia and NATO is a bright example, Ambassador of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Armenia Charles Lonsdale said at a news conference today, adding that this cooperation brought forth notable results. “These results are joint military, as well as emergency situation exercises conducted in Armenia,” the ambassador said, noting that positive examples of cooperation exist in the scientific cooperation sphere as well.
Charles Lonsdale rated high the contribution of the Armenian forces to Afghanistan. “NATO will keep its doors open for those countries that would like to boost relations with NATO, even until membership,” the ambassador pointed out, saying that Armenia or other countries must decide themselves what level of cooperation they wish to have with the alliance.
