No cases of mushroom poisoning and botulism registered this year

YEREVAN, JANUARY 12, ARMENPRESS: This year the cases of mushroom poisoning and botulism have not been registered. Head of the Health Ministry’s food and food security department Margarita Babayan told Armenpress that the risk increases especially on holidays and it is very good that this year such cases have not been registered. On holidays a shift was established in the ministry consisting of staff employees and state hygienic and anti-epidemic inspection employees.

“The ministry has many times been saying that while buying food it is necessary to pay attention to the keeping conditions and time, do not use canned food prepared in home conditions, wash the vegetables, fruits with drinking water,” she said.

The preliminary signs of poisoning are feeling sick, vomiting, stomach disturbances. Margarita Babayan said immediately after these signs come forth it is necessary to apply to doctor as serious complications may follow them.
