Activeness by foreign citizens toward .am domain is big

YEREVAN, JANUARY 11, ARMENPRESS: Thirteen thousand 930 websites are registered in .am domains. An official from the registration center of “ABCDomain” domains said in an interview with Armenpress that the half of the websites registered in .am domain, do not trust in companies providing Armenian hosting and obtain it from foreign companies, the services of which are comparatively cheaper.

According to the information provided by the company, foreign citizens actively work in purchasing of names of .am domain, but RA citizens comprise the majority.

In Armenia domains are purchased in other domains as well, like .org, .net, .com, etc. Ten websites are monthly registered in these domains in average. The interest of foreign citizens in .am domain is not limited by a law, and any person can buy a domain in that domain, including the citizens of neighbor countries – Turkey and Azerbaijan.

Four companies register domains in Armenia in .am domain.
