YEREVAN, DECEMBER 17, ARMENPRESS: The participants of the 12th session of CIS Council of Heads of State News Agencies visited today Tsitsernakaberd memorial complex to pay tribute of honor to the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide. The heads of state news agencies walked around in the Armenian Genocide-Museum, got acquainted with the exhibits, and made notes in the Commemoration Book.

Director General of “Moldpress“ state news agency Vladimir Darie said in an interview with Armenpress that he has read and heard about the Armenian Genocide a lot, but he was again deeply impressed and shocked while listening to the tragic story one more time.

“Not all the nations can have so much barbarism, malice and inhumanity to commit such a crime. It is just an exclusive phenomenon, of course, in the negative sense. We must voice about this everywhere, in order such a crime is not repeated any more. It is the moral readiness of today’s Turkish government to recognize the Genocide and apologize to Armenians,” Mr. Darie said.

It is not the first visit of Deputy Director General of “Ukrinform” national news agency Michail Soroka to Armenia and to the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute, but getting acquainted with the bloody pages of Armenian people every time, he again experiences that great pain. “We must remember those pages not to repeat them,” he said, adding that all must condemn the crime committed by Turkey.

Director General of “Kazinform” state news agency Dauren Diyarov found it difficult to describe with words the pain which he felt while getting acquainted with that episode of the Armenian history.

“All this is horrible. Human mind is not able to perceive and imagine the path which the Armenian nation has passed,” Mr. Diyarov said, stressing that the strength of mass media is in voicing about suchlike truth. What happened was genocide, annihilation of a whole nation, the Director General of Kazinform said.
