Karen Karapetyan – new mayor of Yerevan

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 17, ARMENPRESS: Karen Karapetyan elected new mayor of Yerevan. His candidacy has been forwarded by the “Republican” faction of the Yerevan Council of Elders. Surik Nersisyan, chairman of the Calculating Commission, stated that 50 members of the Council of Elders backed Karen Karapetyan, one member was against.

The “Prosperous Armenia” faction has not nominated any candidacy.
