YEREVAN, DECEMBER 7, ARMENPRESS: The negative influence of the ‘Wikleaks’ on the Turkish-Azerbaijani relations is obvious, according to Artak Shakaryan, Turkologist. He informed today at a meeting with journalists that he has just returned from Turkey, where he partook in the ‘USAQ’ organization’s scientific conference along with Turkish nationalists and Azerbaijani-oriented figures. However, the speaker says, it was obvious that the Turkish-Azerbaijani relations were not so warm.

‘Those relations are not friendly any more: they are based on oil-gas cooperation and pragmatic interests. However this gives an opportunity to state that all in all, the Wikileaks cannot hinder the deeper relations between the two states,’ Turkologist said. As to the Armenian-Turkish relations, Artak Shakaryan said the position on that issue has not been changed in Turkey.

He says people in Turkey insist that no any progress will be registered in the Armenian-Turkish relations, until the Nagorno Karabakh issue is settled. ‘However the Turks understand that first of all, it is Ilham Aliev, who does not want to settle the Nagorno Karabakh issue,’ Artak Shakaryan stated.
