YEREVAN, DECEMBER 7, ARMENPRESS: December 7 was the International Civil Aviation Day. Arayik Abgaryan, pilot, head of flight security audit department of ‘ArmAeroNavigation’ company, spoke on the current state of the Armenian civil aviation at today’s meeting with journalists. He said that the civil aviation has had several achievements in the recent years and has been involved in a number of international establishments.
It is now a member of the ‘Eurocontrol’. He informed that the flights from Armenia to various states are implemented via 13 ‘Airbus’ planes, which undergo a regular check in European countries. ‘As compared to the European states, Armenia’s airplane security is at a higher level. Planes, produced in the Soviet Union, are not in use any more. The Soviet airplanes are not bad, but they do not correspond to the current international standards,’ Arayik Abgaryan said. The speaker said that every year the airplane park is being supplied. ‘In the past, flights were implemented via 4-5 planes, but now the number of the planes was increased twice,’ he said.
