Gagik Harutyunyan: ‘The Address, the RA President Delivered in Astana, Involved Proper Emphases’

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 3, ARMENPRESS: The address, the President of Armenia delivered in Astana, involved proper emphases, according to Gagik Harutyunyan, director of ‘Noravank’ scientific-educational foundation. At today’s meeting with journalists Gagik Harutyunyan touched upon the theme of Nakhichevan and said it reveals the essence of the Azerbaijani-Turkish policy.

‘The decisive mood was evident in the RA President’s speech. He stated once again that it is impossible to settle the issue through force,’ Gagik Harutyunyan said. He added that Azerbaijan appeared in a deadlock. ‘It is quite clear that Ilham Aliev’s position, which lacks for logic, is aimed at dragging out the existence of the Aliev clan,’ he said.

Gagik Harutyunyan underscored the importance of the fact that the joint declaration by the OSCE Minsk group co-chairing states, Armenia and Azerbaijan attributes to the UN Charter, in which the territorial integrity does not have any superiority over the principle of self-determination of peoples. The declaration stressed that the latter is one of the goals of the UN. Gagik Harutyunyan added that this fact can be advantageous for Armenia both in the diplomatic and legal field.
