Kiro Manoyan: Armenian President’s speech in Astana was positive, right and timely

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 3, ARMENPRESS: The speech of the Armenian President in Astana was positive, right and timely, Kiro Manoyan, head of ARF Hay Dat and Political Affairs Office, said, adding that the speech was delivered in front of right audience. “There was a risk that Turkey would reach progress for Azerbaijan in the issue of Nagorno Karabakh, trying to use the OSCE Minsk group, and would ratify the Armenian-Turkish relations,” he said, adding that it did not take place, which can already be positively assessed.

“It was also positive that the process did not reach a deadlock, and the parties expressed readiness to continue the negotiations, and the fact that Ilham Aliyev did not participate in the bilateral meeting, can be explained very easily; the behavior of an insulted is a usual thing for him,” Kiro Manoyan stressed, expressing hope that after Astana, even if there are certain instigations by the Azerbaijani party, the co-chairs of the Minsk group will respond more roughly.

Kiro Manoyan also attached importance to the speech of U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, pointing out that about the equality of all principles of regulation of the conflict was mentioned in it. “It was a right approach that the UN charter was referred, for if we take into consideration what decision the UN Justice Court adopted on Kosovo issue, then it is obvious that it was for our good,” Kiro Manoyan said.
