Narine Martirosyan: There is a goal to spread “Arax” operating system in Georgia and Iran

YEREVAN, DECEMBER, ARMENPRESS: “Instigate” company has been founded in 2005. It is an engineering company with hardware and software teams headquartered in Yerevan, Armenia. The main area of its expertise is system level design of electronic systems, EDA specific software design and parallel programming. The company is one in Armenia in this sphere and is well known for participation in working out of the Armenian operating system of “Arax”, which was for the first time presented during “Digitec Expo 2010”. About the achievements and programs of the company “Armenpress” interviewed Director of the company Arman Poghosyan and responsible authority of “Arax” operating system Narine Martirosyan.

-Mr. Poghosyan, with who do you cooperate in Armenia and abroad, and do you have competitors in your field?

-We cooperate and collaboratively work with Business Development offices in Germany and in the USA. There is no other company in Armenia presenting our sphere.

-How do you assess the IT sphere?

- The development of the sphere is unequivocally notable in the recent period. The activeness of the Armenian Economy Ministry and Union of Information Technology is notable in this issue as well. I can say that the interest in IT sphere is very large.

-Mrs. Martirosyan, your company became known to Armenian society by the works in the direction of the first Armenian operating system – Arax. When and why did you start the implementation of the program and what advantages can it have over other operating systems?

-Actually the author of the first version of Arax is Norayr Chilingaryan. We have prepared the second version of Arax, which we have presented at “Digitec Expo 2010” exhibition. Currently we try to completely fulfill the flaws and disadvantages, which will let finally define that the second variant is complete. The only advantage of Arax is not that it is Armenian; it is also localized by Georgian, Persian and has a regional nature. Besides that, it is based on the famous GNU/Linux OS, which is much more safe, and will be available for free use and distribution.

-How the issues on browser ensuring of the operating system will be solved and which is the goal of “Arax” operating system?

-All the browsers which are written for different operating systems created on the basis of GNU/Linux can work on Arax. There are millions of high-quality programs which can completely meet consumer’s requirements. They are free and very effective. One of our goals is to spread the operating system in regional countries – Georgia and Iran. Besides that, assessing the advantages of the operating system created on the basis of GNU/Linux, it can be widely used in inner nets of numerous companies, which well get rid of additional expenses thanks to this operating system.
