Artak Davtyan: In Astana we managed to draw the borders of truth

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 2, ARMENPRESS: The expectations of the Armenian party from the OSCE summit in Astana mainly became reality, except the one, that no meeting of Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents was held because of Ilham Aliyev, member of the Armenian Republican Party Artak Davtyan said today at a meeting with journalists. “This is not the first case, when the Azerbaijani President runs away in a situation not very profitable for Azerbaijan. This is also a trait of character,” the parliament member said.

“In Astana we managed to draw the borders of truth, on the basis of which the negotiations over regulation of the Karabakh conflict must be continued,” the member of the Armenian Republican Party said, referring to the five-lateral statement about Karabakh adopted in Astana.

“I do not think that there is a progress, there is just no regress,” Spokesman of Heritage Party Hovsep Khurshudyan said. In regard to the behavior of the Azerbaijani President in Astana, Mr. Khurshudyan noted that the dissatisfaction of the Azerbaijani party with the summit is obvious.

“The summit did not refer to the violations, which the Azerbaijani party has constantly registered and implemented in the documents it has signed,” he stated, clarifying that, for example, Azerbaijan violates the agreement on peaceful regulation of the conflict fixed in Minedorf declaration.
