YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 29, ARMENPRESS: The ‘Wikileaks’ website published November 28 several documents, concerning Azerbaijan and Turkey. The content of the documents caused a great scandal among the Turkish mass media, according to Ruben Melkonyan, Turkologist.
He said today in an interview with Armenpress that Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmed Davutoghlu was described as a dangerous person in those documents. ‘The Turkish mass media expect an official respond for the statements on Davutoghlu and Prime Minister of Turkey, as well as for the rude statements on Turkey by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliev,’ Ruben Melkonyan said.
He added that an article, titled ‘Azerbaijan stabs Turkey in the back?’, was published in the front page of a newspaper. Ruben Melkonyan says the documents, published on ‘Wikileaks’, caused negative moods towards Azerbaijan as well.
The ‘Wikileaks’ website published over 250-300 thousand documents, which involved secret information and deciphered materials from various US representations. ‘In case the authenticity of the documents is proved, it will have some influence on the policy and internal life of Turkey. We already see the stormy discussions,’ Ruben Melkonyan said.
He added that the documents also involve information on Armenia. ‘However it is not that they have scandalous content in contrast to the documents, concerning Azerbaijan and Turkey,’ the Turkologist added.
