YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 25, ARMENPRESS: The RA President’s decision not to depart for Lisbon was a right step, according to Hamlet Harutyunyan, deputy of the RA National Assembly’s ARP faction.

He spoke on the NATO’s Lisbon summit and said he is sure that RA President Serzh Sargsyan did not make his decision alone: it was agreed with the Security Council. ‘If such a decision is made, it must have serious reasons. This decision cannot have any negative influence on the NATO-Armenia relations,’ he said.

Hamlet Harutyunyan says those, who criticize the President’s decision, are unaware of the issue.

‘Ilham Aliev scorned all the international norms, left the talks of St. Petersburg and started sabotage. Our President cannot be compared with such a person. President Serzh Sargsyan gives inadequate responses to the threats and demarches of Ilham Aliev. It is advantageous for our nation and for the strengthening of the sprit of our army,’ Hamlet Harutyunyan stated.
