Karen Avagyan: The resolution to be adopted at NATO Parliamentary Assembly will be of consulting nature

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 2, ARMENPRESS: The resolution to be adopted at the NATO Parliamentary Assembly will be of consulting nature, head of the delegation of the Armenian parliament at NATO Parliamentary Assembly, head of the youth wing of the Armenian Republican Party Karen Avagyan said. Among the specifications proposed by them in NK resolution to be discussed in the upcoming session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly he singled out that the word of “occupation” must be either taken away or replaced with another formulation.

“It is of importance that all the references in the resolution will be addressed to the OSCE Minsk group; this document is peculiar for that very reason” Mr. Avagyan pointed out, stressing that the resolution, nevertheless, will be of consulting nature.

“I want to point out the 6th point of the resolution, where the main principles are mentioned, about which the Armenian party continuously voices – self-determination right of peoples, territorial integrity, not application of force, continuation of peaceful negotiations,” Karen Avagyan noted, adding that this is one more platform for voicing different opinions.

A resolution on NK conflict will be discussed at the NATO Parliamentary Assembly to be held November 12-16 in Warsaw, the author of which is Canadian Reynell Andreychuk. It will be brought to a vote on November 14.
