Italian mountaineer proves existence of Noah’s Ark

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 28, ARMENPRESS: An Italian mountaineer, who has been introducing himself as Azat Vardanyan already for several years, as a result of studies of 20 years at the top of Mount Ararat, has found numerous relics proving the existence of Noah’s Ark.

To avoid Turkish prosecutions and to continue excavations at the top of Ararat, he did not publish his real name in mass media. The Italian mountaineer is now in Armenia at the invitation of the National Museum-Institute of Architecture and Armenian Cultural Foundation.

“Though I am in Armenia for the first time, my heart has always been in your country, I ‘have grown old’ at the foot of Ararat. For having the opportunity of studying Mount Ararat and the remains of Noah’s Ark, I had to deceive the Turks in thousand and one ways,” he said in an interview with Armenpress.

To conceal the real goals of his activity in the territory of Turkey the Italian has bought a flock of sheep and is engaged in sheep-breeding at the foot of Ararat with a Kurd family. About 20 years ago it was the very Kurds that helped him to understand what took place at the foot of Ararat at the beginning of the 20th century. A Kurd young person of Armenian descent told him why they comes across human bones and ruins on every step. And the Italian mountaineer, who at first only had a goal to climb Mount Ararat and go on trace of the biblical Noah’s Ark, started studying the history of Armenian massacres as well.

Based on the own studies, today he insists that nearly 200 thousand Armenians have been killed at the foot of Ararat in the days of the genocide. “Turks often bring soil and pour on those bones, but after some period of time they again emerge. And the Turks cannot reach this height every time, as they are afraid of the Kurds,” Azat Vardanyan said.

The mountaineer has found a piece of wood at the top of Ararat at 4500 m height. According to him, wood is found at such a height for the first time; there are traces of tar on it.

Mr. Vardanyan has drawn the map of the ruins of the Armenian villages once situated at the foot of Ararat and the site where Noah’s Ark stopped according to his evidences. The Italian mountaineer will move the items he found to the Mechitarist Congregation of Surb Ghazar Island (San Lazzarro), Venice, where relevant conditions have been created to keep them undamaged. Afterward exhibitions dedicated to Armenian culture and Noah’s Ark will be organized first in Italian cities and later - in Europe.
