Levon Shirinyan says Armenia must be more initiative in the Karabakh conflict settlement process

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 28, ARMENPRESS: Armenia must be more initiative in the Karabakh conflict settlement process, political analyst Levon Shirinyan said, adding that Armenia has nothing to be afraid of, as far as like Armenia wants peace the same wants Azerbaijan.

“It is known that if you want peace you must get prepared for war,” the political analyst pointed out. According to him, Armenian-Azerbaijani battle has turned into “exhaustion of nerves” and fight to foster own viewpoint. “We must imagine the solution of the issue at least registering the current situation,” he noted.

Referring to the October 17 meeting of the presidents of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan, Shirinyan said that such meetings have become traditional but it must be taken into consideration that the conflicting parties have very different interests and it complicates the settlement of the conflict. Speaking about the activation of Azerbaijanis on the Karabakhi-Azerbaijani line of contact, the political analyst said if the violations of cease-fire regime continue, Armenia without any hesitation must present all the facts to the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries and declare about going out of negotiations.
