Serzh Sargsyan visited Akhuryan sugar factory

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 25, ARMENPRESS: President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, as part of his working visit to the Armenian province of Shirak, visited Akhuryan “Lusastgh-Sugar” factory where he got acquainted with the carried out works and future programs.

Director of the factory Eduard Sargsyan said the construction launched in summer 2006. The factory will not only reprocess the imported semi-manufactured raw but also sugar beet grown on site. According to him, till now more than 102 million USD have been invested. The majority of the technology has been acquired from Czechia, Germany, Denmark, France, Ukraine and Russia.

Eduard Sargsyan noted that this year “Lusastgh-Sugar” factory rented 50 ha of territory and planted sugar beet. The factory will work for 10 months, stopping 2 months each year for construction. As a result of creation of the factory about 700 jobs were created with average salary of 150 000 AMD.
