Almost 90% of eye illnesses of children are curable

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 22, ARMENPRESS: One out of twenty pre-school and four schools age children have eyesight issue and ignoring it may cause losing of the eyesight. Monitoring and Assessment Director of the Armenian Oculist Project Nairuhi Jrbashyan told Armenpress that almost 90% of eye illnesses of children are curable in case the treatment starts from an early period.

“Though the serious eye illnesses are not so spread among children, there are eyesight issues which must be treated in early period. For instance eyes of schoolchildren must be examined once in two years,” Nairuhi Jrbashyan said.

According to her, the main reason of loss of children’s eyesight is the injuries occurring mainly during the absence of adults.
