Karine Nalchajyan: The anti-Armenian propaganda spread in Azerbaijan is of ailing nature

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 21, ARMENPRESS: The anti-Armenian propaganda spread in Azerbaijan is of ailing nature, psychologist Karine Nalchajyan said today at a meeting with journalists, adding that it can result in collective psychic disturbance.

“Mental disorder is obvious among our neighbors, connected with the issue of what descent they are,” the psychologist said, adding that the collective lying is the result of this mental disorder, which is spread throughout Azerbaijan. “For solving this ethno-pathological issue the Azerbaijani have endeavored to create their own history,” Karine Nalchajyan stressed, saying that it takes place at the price of falsifying the history of Armenian people.

Mher Hovhannisyan, head of the Virtual Armenology Department of the Armenological Researches Institute at Yerevan State University, said that the Azerbaijani try to implement anti-Armenian propaganda within scientific framework as well.

“As a result of the two-year activity of our institute we have revealed about 750 “scientific” works, where Karabakh is presented as ‘Azerbaijani historical territory’,” Mr. Hovhannisyan noted, adding that the Azerbaijani try to develop the “thesis of Armenian terrorism”. “Of course, we have some flaws in network propaganda, but in the recent period positive shifts have been noticed,” Mr. Hovhannisyan stated.

Alik Gharibyan, specialist of the YSU Armenological Researches Institute, said that even many Azerbaijani sources note that they have exerted violent pressures on the Armenian population in Nagorno Karabakh.

He said that these facts must be presented to international community. “A conference on “Karabakh: Yesterday, Today, tomorrow” was conducted in 2009 in Moscow under the sponsorship of Ilham Aliyev, during which we again saw that Azerbaijan does not stop presenting Karabakh as Azerbaijani territory.”
