YEREVAN, OCTOBER 19, ARMENPRESS: The Applied Psychology Center of the Yerevan State University helped more than 80 people individually and 60 groups consisting of 580 persons. The center that has history of two years serves annually 30 groups needing psychological consultation. Davit Gevorgyan, director of the center, YSU professor of social psychology, told Armenpress that each person may apply to the center but till now as to the noticed regularity mainly students are getting use of it.
“The institutions dealing with psychological health sphere in our country need uniting: it will promote the consolidation of the system in the republic,” Mr Gevorgyan said, adding that each in even seemingly insignificant situation may have necessity of consultation, for instance, a student in panic on the eve of exams.
The YSU Applied Psychology Center functions from October 2008 and is aimed at assisting the development of applied psychology and increase of quality of services in our country. The visitors of the center mainly have problems connected with fears, panics, depression, hard mood, neuroses, problems in relations, conflicts, complex of inferiority, etc.
The center is also planning to conduct scientific researches, particularly in business, political psychology, psychological diagnoses and other spheres.
