Money awards to 14 Yerevan people over 100 years old

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 4, ARMENPRESS: On the assignment of the Yerevan mayor, the International Day of Older Persons turned into a unique holiday for the residents of the capital who are over 100 years old. Press service of the Yerevan municipality told Armenpress that within the framework of a social action 14 elders over 100 years old were handed monetary awards in the amount of 70 thousand AMD on behalf of the mayor.

Mary Vardanyan, who is among the long-lived persons, said that the most important for them – the elderly, is to be surrounded with love and care, which they feel today.

Many multifaceted social programs are implemented in the capital by Yerevan mayor. The head of the Social Insurance Department of the municipality assures that they are of continuous nature. “The various social events implemented in the capital, speak about care and attention of urban authorities, particularly, of the municipality, to the elderly, parentless children, disabled people, veterans of the Great Patriotic War and the other social groups,” the official said.
