Karen Avagyan: ‘The withdrawal of the draft resolution, presented to the UN General Assembly by Azerbaijan, is the success of the RA President’s foreign policy’

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 11, ARMENPRESS: The withdrawal of the draft resolution, presented to the UN General Assembly by Azerbaijan, is the success of the RA President’s foreign policy, according to Karen Avagyan, RA NA deputy, head of the Armenian Republican Party’s youth organization.

He said today in an interview with Armenpress that due to the constructive and concrete activities of the Armenian foreign policy all the international establishments and superpowers, which are somehow connected with the regulation of the NK issue, can see clearly that the regulation of the issue should be processed within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairmanship.

‘The final result of the Armenian activities was that the Azerbaijani side realized that the resolution would fail and the possibility of presenting such a resolution once again is little,’ the deputy said. Karen Avagyan says he does not see any connection between the regional visit of the OSCE Minks Group Co-Chairs and the withdrawal of the resolution. ‘As this is an integral process, one can see some connection, but I think these two events are not connected with each other directly,’ Karen Avagyan said.

He added that the pressure of the international community was evident. ‘Azerbaijan saw that through warlike statements and diversions it does not manage to achieve its goals, so it started to distort the reality,’ the deputy said. He added that in the result of the active and adequate responses of the Armenian side no any method of Azerbaijan really worked.
