Memorandum of mutual comprehension signed between Armenian Culture Ministry and “Galust Gyulbenkyan” CJSC

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 3, ARMENPRESS: A memorandum of mutual comprehension was signed today between the Armenian Culture Ministry and “Galust Gyulbenkyan” CJSC, which intends cooperation in the spheres of historical-cultural heritage, education, contemporary art, literary, translation, literary publishing, etc. “Our goal is to contribute to mental and material development of Armenian people. There has always been cooperation between us and now it is fixed by the memorandum.

“Galust Gyulbenkyan” CJSC has supported and will continue to support in spreading and developing of the Armenian culture,” Director of the Armenian Department of the company Zaven Yekavyan said. The memorandum intends preservation, study and restoration of the historical-cultural heritage, study and restoration of cultural merits, museum collections, implementation of programs in the sphere of contemporary art, education of Armenian young cadres in foreign leading cultural and educational establishments in the sphere of cultural education, participation in international book exhibitions, translation of Armenian literature and implementation of publishing programs in literary, translation and book publishing spheres.

An agreement has been reached between the parties to implement joint programs within the frameworks of the 2012 events dedicated to the 500th anniversary of the Armenian first printed book and “Yerevan - World Book Capital 2012” proclaimed by the UNESCO.
