RA Defense Ministry: ‘The Azerbaijani authorities artificially destabilize the situation in the border contact line and endanger the negotiation process of the NK issue’

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 1, ARMENPRESS: The Azerbaijani side broke the ceasefire regime toughly and applied to diversion again. According to the information, provided by the press service of the NKR Defense Army, attempt of diversion was made at 6.30 a.m., August 31 against one of the Armenian military points, located near Upper Chailu village – in the north-eastern direction of the contact line between the armies of Azerbaijan and Karabakh.

The Armenian trench guards authenticated the advancement of the special units of the opponent, undertook corresponding measures and threw out the opponent. The opponent suffered losses. Radik Tovmas Manaseryan, private soldier of RA Defense Army, born 1991, was wounded during the action. The details of the incident are currently being made clear. The statement, provided to Armenpress by the press and PR office of RA Defense Ministry, mentions that the Azerbaijani side ascribed the diversion to Armenia and published false news, according to which the Artsakhi Armed Forces started diversion and suffered loss of two soldiers.

The Defense Ministry’s report states that the authorities of the neighbor state ignore the efforts, directed to the peaceful regulation of the Nagorno Karabakh issue, artificially destabilize the situation in the border contact line and endanger the negotiation process of the NK issue by applying regular diversions. ‘Azerbaijan’s style of action and diversions make the situation strained in the Armenian-Azerbaijani border line and do not correspond to the statements of the Azerbaijani authorities on readiness for peaceful regulation of the NK issue,’ the statement mentiones.
