Issues on ‘From Western Armenian into Eastern Armenian and Vice Versa’ Translating Program Discussed

YEREVAN, AUGUST 31, ARMENPRESS: RA Diaspora Minister Hranush Hakobyan received today Edward Manukyan, head of the ‘From Western Armenian into Eastern Armenian and Vice Versa’ translating program.

An official from the press and PR office of RA Diaspora Ministry told Armenpress that Edward and Suren Manukyans are the initiators and developers of the ‘From Western Armenian into Eastern Armenian and Vice Versa’ translating program. The program is a part of a big system, the main program of which is a translator program from Armenian into English and vice versa. The system was developed upon a personal initiative, and the system’s ‘From Western Armenian into Eastern Armenian and Vice Versa’ part was ordered by the Diaspora Ministry, which provides covers the service costs.

Edward Manukyan says the program is being updated once a month. The number of users of the program made 100-150 in 2008. More than 2500 people have been using the program since June, 2010. The head of the program expects 3000 visitors in September.

Edward Manukyan says the program is quite important and it should operate under the state auspices. He mentioned that financial means are necessary for the further operation of the program.
