The rector of the French University presented the reasons for dismissal of 29 lecturers

YEREVAN, AUGUST 31, ARMENPRESS: The French University in Armenia has dismissed the 14.8 % of lecturers – 29 people, Rector of the university Joel Le Morzelek said today at a press conference, stressing that there are some subjects, which stay out from the study list conceding their place to other subjects.

“This process aims to increase the university quality,” J. Le Morzelek said, stressing that the university lecturers work on contract basis, and some of them have been dismissed from the office, as the contract terms had expired. According to the rector, there are lecturers, who wrote about dismissal, some wanted to apply to the court, but such is the process of democracy.

“I believe in justice and wait for the answer of the court,” J. Le Morzelek said, underscoring that he informed the mentioned lecturers about dismissal two months ago and paid holiday for 48 days by fulfilling the law. According to the rector, some of the lecturers were dismissed for peculiar reasons, some did not correspond to the requirements and standards of the university.

“The dismissed lecturers instigate students to organize strikes and falsify signatures,” pro-rector of the university Arayik Navoyan said, stressing that some people confuse democracy with anarchy.
