Gagik Harutyunyan, “Azerbaijani foreign policy has failed”

YEREVAN, AUGUST 27, ARMENPRESS: The Azerbaijani foreign policy has failed, Director of “Noravank” foundation Gagik Harutyunyan said today at a meting with journalists, adding that some part of the Azerbaijani society has the impression that Azerbaijan has become a small toy in the hand of big powers. Among the failed directions of the Azerbaijani foreign policy Mr. Harutunyan pointed out that the country has unfriendly relations with Iran, freezing is noticed in relations with Russia, and even in relations with Turkey Azerbaijan does not get what it would like.
According to military expert Davit Jamalyan, Azerbaijan uses 2 main theses in its information field, first, Azerbaijan is a rich country and can take victory over Armenia by obtaining weapon, and second, can gain victory by the advantage of the population quantity.
“But after Russian President Dmitry Medvedev’s state visit and signing of important contracts Azerbaijan can not think of easy victory any more,” Mr. Jamalyan said, adding that now this country will try to follow the path of discrediting contracts.
“Both in the South Caucasus and in the whole world some consensus is noticed between Russia and USA,” Mr. Harutyunyan said, commenting on the USA attitude toward the latest Armenian-Russian contracts.
