Huge clashes registered in the universe because of gathered waste

YEREVAN, AUGUST 23, ARMENPRESS: The earth confronts a new, serious and dangerous issue; huge clashes are registered in the universe because of the gathered waste. A protocol has been signed the other day between the Armenian and Russian scientists, which is an initial agreement and discussion about the danger of the rubbish mass appeared in the universe as result of people’s activity, and about its solution ways. Russian scientists informed about that to the Russian President.

Director of the Byurakan Observatory Hayk Harutyunyan told Armenpress that the waste creates problems of utmost seriousness. Currently over 20 thousand objects of 10 cm turn round the earth. And the number of smaller bodies extends the 100 thousand. They cause big damage to satellites, spacecrafts, different equipments which implement important activity in the universe.

The clash of Russian old and American new spacecrafts is noteworthy, which caused huge damages to the both parties, but because of the absence of the legal field in this sphere, the case was announced a nature disaster and nobody took responsibility. “So, the legal field rises to the universe as well,” H. Harutyunyan said noting that we really need that.

“International big programs have been already drafted, which are engaged in research of dangerous pieces, and examination of movement directions.

They have right orbits, which must be under constant control, which the new international initiative is called to implement. The agreement with the Russian party has been signed on participation in those very works. According to the agreement, the observatory tools of Armenia bust be updated, and the works, observations and researches – paid. “This is very useful for us, we really need such a funding,” H. Harutyunyan noted and added that with those conditions Armenian scientists will work even with greater interest.

According to the director of the Byurakan Observatory, now it is hard to imagine life without cosmic equipments. He noted that thanks to satellite observations weather forecasts, etc are implemented with accuracy, and people are able to follow the changes of the Earth. All this has essentially changed people’s development way and has become the important part of the life.
