YEREVAN, JULY 14, ARMENPRESS: The forthcoming meeting of the Azerbaijani and Armenian Foreign Ministers, expected to be held July 16-17 in Almaty within the framework of the non-official summit of the OSCE foreign ministers, will be significant and complicated, according to Aram Safaryan, secretary of the RA NA ‘Prosperous Armenia’ faction.
He said at today’s meeting with journalists that during the meeting the two sides should make clear their position on the continuation of the negotiations over the regulation of the Nagorno Karabakh issue.
Aram Safaryan says all the stages of the regulation of the conflict, presented by OSCE Co-Chairs of Russia, France and the US recently, have equal force and that avoiding one of those points is equal to the refusal of the whole regulation plan.
‘The Armenian authorities have already given their consent to the statement of the OSCE Co-Chairs. Though Azerbaijan is against mutual concessions and Madrid Principles, it applies diversions, trying to make the Armenian side to be the first to refuse the continuation of the negotiations and Madrid Principles,’ Aram Safaryan noted. He added that he is sure Armenia is ready for the new stage of the negotiations over the NK issue. He said Armenia wants to regulate the issue on the base of the international principles.
