Ara Najarian - Barack Obama’s Classmate

YEREVAN, JULY 8, ARMENPRESS: It is widely rumored that Mayor of Glendale Ara Najarian, Armenian by origin, studied with US President Barack Obama. Ara Najarian approved the rumors today.

‘Yes, we studied 1961 in Los Angeles together. It was really impossible to think Barack Obama would ever become President of the US. Though he was clever, he did not like contacts. At that time everybody liked me much more,’ Ara Najarian said jokingly.

He says during the presidential elections the dwellers of Glendale supported Barack Obama a lot, because Obama promised to recognize the Armenian Genocide after elections. ‘But the community of Glendale is disappointed now, as the President did not keep his pledge,’ Ara Najarian stated. He added he thinks Obama may recognize the Armenian Genocide till the end of his tenure. ‘The Genocide is the concern of everybody, so we should exert efforts to make the great countries recognize it,’ the mayor noted.

As to the nervous activities of Azerbaijan, Ara Najarian said the Azerbaijanis should know that the Armenians will certainly give the proper response to them.
