Hovhannes Sahakyan: Visiting the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Hillary Clinton indirectly recognized the fact of Genocide

YEREVAN, JULY 7, ARMENPRESS: “The US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton reaffirmed the idea that the ball of the Armenian-Turkish relations is in the Turkish field,” member of the Armenian Republican Party’s faction Hovhannes Sahakyan said a news conference today. According to him, visiting the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial she indirectly recognized the fact of Genocide.
H. Sahakyan also said that we have already done our step and President Serzh Sargsyan too noted that we are ready for the continuation of the process without pre-conditions.
As connected with the NK issue, the ARP representative said that Clinton’s visit was also important as she noted that peace is necessary for the peoples of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Nagorno Karabakh. This means that she recognizes Karabakh as a conflicting party, thus it is possible to involve it in the negotiation process.
NA opposition representative Vardan Khachatryan noted that of course, Clinton’s visit was symbolizing, but it increased US political activity in the region.
“The USA’s South Caucasian policy became clear,” Khachatryan said. After well-known incident in Gaza, Turkey became not reliable partner for the United States in the region, thus the American political vector is being subjected to changes and in this new vector united Caucasus has its place.
